Getting Noticed, Taking Your Game To The Next Level!

There are many great athletes playing at the youth level, but without the proper exposure, the athlete may never reach higher levels for a shot at a professional career in sports. How do athletes find agents and how do athletes gain visibility to top scouts around the world?

Generally, sports agents work with local scouts who have been tracking top athletes since middle school.  These scouts have the most comprehensive information on players that have the best shot of excelling at the highest level of competition.

If you are a youth athlete looking to get noticed by college scouts, first put in the work. It’s one thing to have skill, but those that are willing to put the extra effort in the weight room and on the field, have a leg up. Athletes need to have a list of potential schools, clubs, scouts which involves more than just wanting to play for your favorite team.  Third, athletes need to showcase their talents through video and build profiles on one or more recruiting websites, i.e., www.ludiscentral.com. There is usually an associated fee with registering with sport recruiters but it’s imperative to get as much exposure through as many means as possible.  Be assertive and contact coaches and/or agents and scouts on your target list of schools or academies.  Participate in as many events and showcase tournaments as possible. What about international players getting recognition from schools or clubs in the North America? First, be sure to compete against North American competition. This will show coaches how you deal in all situations, whether good or bad.  Market yourself; make yourself as appealing as possible. Maybe your GPA sets you apart or some exception skill on the field or court is what will open the eyes of scouts. Finally, demonstrate excellent communication skills. Be sure to reply to recruiters or coaches in a timely manner. This shows responsibility and taking the process of competing internationally seriously.
